Get into a Community Group, or come to a Sunday evening service.
First, make sure you get involved in our mission. Then, talk to some people in your community group about how and where they are serving. If all else fails, e-mail us and let us know where you’re gifted and willing to serve!
What school do you go to? If its UW, SPU or SU, yes. If its a Community College or another school, maybe. If we don’t have a community group at your campus, talk to us and we’ll help you start something.
We have around 25 community groups meeting around the U-District, so close to 200 people. We anticipate and pray this number will grow exponentially during the coming years.
As a large group we throw parties, have weekend getaways, trips around the world, and gather weekly for corporate worship at Kane Hall on campus. But the real good stuff happens in the community groups, which do all kinds of stuff.
We started as the College Mission, a ministry of the Ballard campus, in September 2007. In September 2009 the decision was made to launch Mars Hill U-District as a separate Sunday venue.
This summer we will training current and future Community Group leaders to lead their communities to Jesus and those who don’t know him.
This will be an 8 week course in missional leadership.
Each week there will be practical theological training on leadership, personal discipleship, and “TFC” formated Bible Study.
